Universal wanted $165 to run diagnostics on my 2003 Honda Civic. That money would not be credited toward any repairs. They didn't look at car to see what error light was. I went to Budget Tune Lube and Smog on Soscol and they for free pointed out that service soon light was because oil need to be changed. After one hour my car was smoged and oil changed for $112

After being told by two other smog shops they couldn't smog my car with ABS light on, came here on the recommendation of another mechanic and 15 minutes later it passed smog. They fit me in at 5pm on a Friday. Great shop and open on Saturdays!

I was told to come here by another mechanic. BEST RECOMMENDATION I HAVE EVER GOTTEN!!! They are great. Jose the owner is a great guy, he'll explain to you what he's doing, he's been here in the valley for a long time. His staff, mechanics are nice, they greet you, and also show you what they are doing. If you have doubts about others mechanics come here and let them work on your car.

I came here on a Saturday morning and although they were busy they were able to service my car and have it ready the same day. They gave me an estimate and total cost for the service was fairly priced. Jose, the owner, was helpful and took the time to answer all my questions. The shop has recently moved next to Harbison appliances off of the silverado trail. So glad I was able to find them! I have been swindled and lied to by other auto shops and am always weary when my car needs work. I was relieved to find that The owner is trustworthy, and really wants to do a great job at a fair price. This place is definitely not the stereotypical shop that makes up things that need to be fixed and nickel and dime you. They will do the job right, and honestly. I am so thankful that there are people out there still doing great work. Carmen, the receptionist, is great, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Definitely recommend this place! Thank you Jose for giving me faith in honest mechanics again;) repairs were about $600, having a good auto shop is priceless.

Have been going here for over a year now and i must say that I am HIGHLy impressed with the work done here. The owner is very honest and reliable and Carmen is very personable and communative when it comes to parts getting ordered. I own a BMW and everyone thinks that they are expensive to work on. True, but ever since i came to Universal Auto i have been getting great service with reliable service and good work ethic. FAST TOO. If there's ever anything i need in town, i go to these guys. My car has had no problems in the year of owning it and I'm very satisfied with what's happened. I've had my tires rotated, oil changed, simple parts shipped in, ALL SUCCESSFUL. I am still going here and will continue to the outstanding service. Yes, they have moved.
